About Me

I am a woman who has purposed in my heart that I will declare and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will not compromise His word for anyone or anybody. I love meeting new people and sharing stories. I am an Expository Preaching, Apologetics, Hermeneutics and Exegesis of the Bible.

New video_Moment

I am a happily married woman and I thank God for my blessing every day. Besides being a wife, I am Mother, Grandmother, Minister and Author as well as the founder and President of The Devotion Cafe.

The Devotion Cafe, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c)(3). The Devotion Cafe, Inc. purpose for which the corporation is formed are as follows to spread the word of God through Issuance of bibles, educational materials, etc. and provide hope for those in need.

I enjoy many things from sight-seeing, taking photographs, traveling, and working out at the gym. When I am not doing those things, I am sharing the message of Christ. I get great pleasure out of reading God’s word and teaching it to people as it relates to our daily needs.

When you read my devotions or anything on this page, I always give life applications. When I first became a born-again believer, I struggled with understanding God’s word and how to apply it to my life. I kept saying to myself “there has got to be a better way to understand God’s word.”

It was then that I realized what I needed was life applications. That was my defining moment. I began taking notes on every scripture asking God to show me what it means and how it pertains to me and what lesson can I learn from it. I must say my bible is completely marked up and highlight and I love it. The more I study God’s word I saw that His word was not difficult it was just like He said that even a child can understand it.

I knew that there had to be other people who thought like I did and that is why when I explain scriptures, I always show them how to apply it to their lives.

As you read my devotions, I share some of my own personal experiences. I am a very firm believer that if a person is not real and transparent about themselves people find it hard to be able to allow them to minister to them.

Each day I am learning how to live life to the fullest the way God intended us to live it…Thank you Jesus, for everything.

In July 2013 I started a petition. “Telling the World about Jesus Love”.

Can’t thank you enough for keeping this blog. Stumbled across it one day when searching for a daily devotional. I come everyday now! Your words are so penetrating and ‘”real.” Sure helps a new church person get into scripture a lot easier than playing pick-a-page roulette with my bible!

    1. Desiray says:

Sister Maddie I thank you, for what you just said those words inspired me today. I know what you mean about playing pick a page roulette I use to do that when I was new to church. But I am going to let you in on a little secret, the more you find yourself digging in the word you will stop playing the pick a page….Again thank you so very much for coming by and little did you know that you was going to bless me. See how the Lord does things we blessed one another. God is WOnderful..

  9. Hello, Desiray. I just discovered your site today and had to spend some time visiting. It’s wonderful, and I pray the Lord will continue to enlarge your ministry for Him. I’m a minister of the Gospel as well — for a little over 40 years now. I host several different blogs, including the one from which I am commenting. This one (Hangin’ Out With God) and two “Healing From Jesus” blogs are strictly for the purpose of ministry. I have been amazed at the response to the ministry blogs — especially the ones that focus on healing. So many people need healing in the world today, and thousands are finding these sites and finding help.

I had only a short time to visit today, but I listened to part of a radio broadcast. It was great, and I will definitely visit again soon and listen to more. I’m sure those broadcasts help thousands of people out there. The Lord bless you for your faithfulness.

I do believe in the power of healing I have been healed by the Lord from Colon Cancer last year and it’s amazing how all a person has to do is believe..Since that time I have shared how the Lord has healed me and how He keeps on healing me from what ever I pray about..I could go on and on but if I do it will be a book instead of a comment one day you and I will talk and I will share it all with you. You can email if you wish my email is scent4roses@yahoo.com have a bless day and I look forward to seeing you here again at The Devotion Cafe

  12. Hey Desiray,

Just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the “Very Inspiring Blogger Award”: http://sothisisnow.wordpress.com/2013/08/21/truly-honored/#more-290. I know you have been busy but just wanted to let you know that you have touched my life. Thanks!

    1. Desiray says:

thank you for nominating me but I can’t take no credit my friend, the Lord is the one who has done this change and work in me. And though it was not an easy process at all I am thankful for what I have become and how He is still working in me to finish the work. When I started doing this years ago I was so scared about the things I was to share thought I would be judged but I knew that the things I have been through have to touch at least one person’s life. And over the course of the years I have been blessed to be able to hear people tell me that what I have shared about my struggles and challenges have inspired them. The Lord says that it is through the blood and the word of our testimonies and I am so thankful that GOD has done what He wanted in me because as I say all the time what we go through in life is never about us it’s for others…AMEN Thank you for commenting and I look forward to fellowship with you.

Desiray, thank you for visiting my blog. It is always exciting when I find believers sharing their faith life-lessons. I am appreciative of your outreach and anticipate reading more of your wonderful insights.

    1. desirayl says:

Thank you, Mary. I can still remember the first time I witness to someone. I was so nervous I thought I was going to mess up bad. Or that the person would walk away. The nervousness went away, and the person stayed and came to Christ that day. Since then I have used simple little things when I witness to people. It is never my duty to get them saved, it is my task to tell them about Jesus and plant that seed. For Jesus will do the rest. AMEN.

Thank you for your comment. God bless you.
