Romans 8:28 says “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
When I was a little girl, went through a phase with having clean hands. I would always say my hands. My parents would ask me, “why do you keep saying my hands?” For some reason I did not like getting my hands dirty. My mother just chalks it up to a phase I was going through. And she was right because later that summer I was playing in the mud.
As I got older, I developed another word for my vocabulary it was “WHY ME?“ I came up with that word when things went wrong in my life. Most of which was from me making poor choices.
One day I guess my mother got tired of hearing me complain and she said ” Desi, why not you? Well needless to say I could not grasp that concept I even questioned her, and her reply was you are always complaining when something happens to you. Stop the “Why ME” She went on to say that someone else would love to trade places with you.
In other words, she was letting me know that in all circumstances give thanks. Mom always knew how to bring things into perspective for me, and she was right I needed to stop that and so I did.
From that day I stopped saying “why me” I have learned that God is growing and pruning me for something much bigger then where I am at that moment. And so, the next time you hear yourself saying “why me” think about it this way. Jesus Christ hung on a cross, and they did everything to Him including spitting upon Him, and not once did He say, Father “why me”.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. So, when the heat is turned up instead of us saying “why me” let us say God is doing a work in me, to prefect us to be more like Him.
Have a Blessed Tuesday!
