Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone

on

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

For a person to step out of their comfort zone takes courage. To move out of your comfort zone and to move into unknown territory is frighten. Therefore, we stay where we are. For the unknown scares us.

We treat our relationship with Jesus the same way, when God is wanting to do something in our lives when He wants to take you to another level we are hesitated to move. It is like we would rather hold on to our Linus security blanket than move.

Do you want to be healthier, but you will not eat the proper foods? You want a better relationship with your spouse, but you keep making them pay for the mistakes of others who hurt you in the pass. You want to write a book, but your afraid you do not have what it takes.  We build up these walls around us while protecting ourselves with fear.

We like the security we feel behind our walls, and every day fear is speaking to us saying, “now you do not have to worry about failing, because nothing or no one can come through this barrier of a wall you have built.”

The Lord knows all about you and I having our comfort zones. He wants to remove them from our lives. The only way this is going to work is that we must trust the Lord. He knows what is best for us. He has a brighter plan for our lives than we can even imagine.

In closing, each step we take away from the comfort zone the Lord is holding our hands. Yes, we will be nervous that is to be expected. But God has promised, have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

This is doable with GOD.
