It is okay to Not Be OKAY!!

Why do we hide behind the mask of pretending that we are okay? It is okay to not be okay. Bad days are apart of life, we all have them. Some deal with them better than others, and that is okay. You might feel like jumping back in the bed pulling the covers over your head and sleep that day away while waiting for tomorrow. And that is okay.

The pressure of having to feel great all the time is not reality. The stigma and pressure of having to feel great all the time is not reality. No one can live up to that type of hype. For the reality of life is not every day is going to be a good day.

When someone ask you how are you doing? We immediately say that we are good, or we are fine. But what if you are not good or fine? What if you are having a bad day and you are not okay? Why do we not tell a person we are not okay? Is it that we think it is none of their business or perhaps we do not want to be judge or categorize in a certain category?

When this pandemic hit, and everything was in lockdown we all experienced the I am not okay. We had more not okay days during this pandemic than we can count. I experienced it, I had to talk to my doctor because I was not okay.

There are moments when we are high on the mountain and everything is great, next moment we are down in the valley trying to stay above the waves. And that is okay because in this life we will have difficulties.

In closing remember Jesus does not change, He is always there with us no matter where we are. Another thing please do not beat yourself up when you are not okay, talk to someone and let them know you are not okay. There is help you do not have to suffer alone.

  6. I’ve learned this important lesson. Sometimes I am not okay and I need prayer! Want prayer! And even then, sometimes I just need to share what is going on with someone who cares. It really is okay to not be okay sometimes! Thanks for the reminder! Wonderful Jesus!

  8. I loved this piece! Especially when you stated; “it’s ok to not be ok”. I tell that to people all the time who’s trying to “save face”! God can only help the real you, not the one you pretend to be!
