Why do we ask, Where is GOD?

on

John 3:17 says’ For God did not send His Son to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him.

Those who asked,” Where is God.” What are they really asking?  God’s plan for man was never to destroy man, it was to bring man into relationship with God. When tragedy hits, they ask” Where is GOD”? Man has assumed that God has deserted him. Man has assumed that GOD does not LOVE, for how could a loving GOD allow such bad things to happen.

When bad things happen, God is and has always been right where He is. God does not leave just because bad things happen to you. Or when things happen to our world and nation. So why does man say Where is GOD? Man says this because man has turned his back on GOD. Have you ever noticed that people do not even ask where God is until they are found in a dark place?

Reason being is because they have not lost their faith in God. It is when we lost our faith that we being to question God. The same God delivered you before is the same God who will see you through this. God does not change; we change one minute we are all on fire for God then in that same breath we feel lonely and scared wondering where God is. Now we have become of the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

  •  I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
  • Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:40
  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

So, before you begin to put the Lord on trial ask ourselves “who left who? Were you wanting a Savior in your life? Or are you wanting to live your life your way? Do you think you can live in this world without a Savior?

The bible reveals that no man can live in this life without the Savior, to live in this world without Jesus as your personal Savior is to live in complete darkness. And sadly, many people have chosen to live in complete darkness.

This was very encouraging. Thank you! I loved all the Scripture verses. I liked how you presented your subject and the conclusion that you drew that if we question where God is, he didn’t leave us, but we left him, basically. I think this kind of thinking of where is God comes from a wrong concept of God, too. It is a “me-me” mentality that assumes God is there just for us rather than us realizing we were made for God to give him glory and honor. He’s the one asking where many of us are, and he has the right to ask, too.
