Question: What is living the dream?

https://desirayl.wordpress.com/barista-wednesday/

My answer:

This must be the new thing because I hear people say it when you ask them how are they doing? I have no idea what it means. Is it sarcasm? Hopefully someone can explain it to me.

I always take it that folks say this at work to mean, “I’m working hard doing the same old same old and nothing new is ever going to happen.”

Thank you for explaining it to me. Because I did not understand why a person says that.

Now when I hear it spoken I will know exactly what they are saying.

    Blessings to you.

  3. I always thought of it as sarcasm. Like, I asked you a serious question that I really cared enough to want to know. What is that persons definition of living the dream to them? Everyone’s internal definition may be different. For me, my living the dream is that I’m running the good race to my eternal destination to be with God in his kingdom. Unless I’m mistaking their response as sarcasm.

I hear you Paula. When I am at work and I say good morning to people they say that they are living the dream.

But I never respond back with what they say. Because I had no idea what that phrase means.
