Why do we allow ourselves to be Overwhelmed?

Matthew 19:26 says” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

There is only one reason as to why we get so overwhelmed. And that reason is, “it’s impossible.” There are many things that you and I can say that overwhelm us, but in a nutshell, it is all about the impossible.  Why do we assume that we can do it all?

When we do just one thing that task can and usual sends us in a tailspin. Reason being because we are forever looking and weighing our options. Therefore, God says with man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Why do we bring unnecessary stress on ourselves? Why not just give it to the one who can handle it? God is the master of handling all the options our little minds can think or even dream of.

Now for those who might say well, I have turned it over to God, and yet you still feel overwhelmed and stress. Let me first say that I too have done that and still end up feeling worried. You know why? It is because we took it out of GOD’s Hands.  Anytime we give anything over to God we must leave it with Him. But because we want what we want when we want it. We will take what we gave to God out of His hands. 

We cannot keep playing this game of tug a war with God. We either let Him have it or we live in misery. The choice is ours. For me after I have had enough of the pressure, I go back to God and this time I leave it there. Matter of fact I stop thinking about it all together. So, the next time you find yourself feeling overwhelmed ask yourself this? Have I been considering other options? And when your answer yes, turn it over to God immediately.

Lord, help us in this area of being anxious, teach us to wait patiently upon you Lord. Remove all fears and anxieties from us. Remind us in our waiting to think on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.

And Lord, when our flesh feels the need to take matters into our own hands, let your Holy Spirit led us back to the correct path. I ask of these things in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. AMEN, AMEN and AMEN!

    this reminds me of something that was said to me years ago and Mommy reminds me of it when I get too anxious…we take our burdens to the feet of Christ in suitcase and bags and we lay them at His feet. Then when we leave we pick up those suitcases and bags because it is so very hard to truly leave them where they belong ♥
