Happy Labor Day to each of you.
I would like to mention that it is not too late for you to submit your question for our “Barista Coffee” on Wednesday’s. Just click on the tab “Barista Coffee” type your question in the message box and submit.
Your devotional will be about encouraging you as a blogger. This is for everyone who blogs.
There is a reason why each of us blog. And I know at times it might feel as if we wonder why those who visit our pages do not always leave a comment. Or perhaps they do not rate your blog that day, but they will click on the like link.
You might be wondering and asking yourself, “the same people visit but they do not comment?” You yourself believe in what you wrote and yet the comments are not there like all the responses are to those who liked what you wrote.
Let me speak this word of hope to you. The Lord shared this with me fifteen years ago and I pray it helps you. Just like you I asked those same exact words. I wanted comments, see the more comments I saw I thought that people liked what I wrote. I have seen other people’s pages and they would have hundreds of comments just on one topic.
I remember thinking wow, “this person is popular.” Well after a while I started to feel discouraged. And I wanted to stop blogging all together. Then one night in my prayer I heard the Holy Spirit so clear. He said, “who are you blogging for?” Of course, my answer was “I am blogging for God” He said, “NO” you are blogging for man. Family let me just tell you I was hurt because I just knew I was blogging for God.
The spirit said again to me,” when you blog for God do not be concerned about getting your reward of down here on earth. For God will give you what you need to share with the world and the people whose lives you are touch is through the words that I give you.
I thank God so much for speaking to me the way that He does. It was then that the Lord gave me the name The Devotion Café’ and it was then that I went to get the name as a Non-Profit 501 ©3. See my brothers and sisters it does not matter how many comments we get on our pages, or how many likes. Because someone’s heart is being changed by the words you put on your blog about Jesus Christ.
You and I will never know what a person is needing but when they come to our page and read what we have written it gives them hope. Some people are private not everyone wants others to know how they feel about something we wrote. I know for me still to this day; I have people who prefer to email me, or they use my contact page just to ask me questions regarding what I wrote, or they are requesting prayer. I have had people ask me to help them design their website.
I no longer get caught up in having so many comments. Yes, it beautiful when I get them, but I also know my audience and not all of them care to speak freely. And that is okay, I respect them. And they know that. I do hope that this message has encouraged you.
Father God, I pray that as your children begin to type that Your words will spill over the pages of their website and that everyone who visit that website will be changed. That their hearts would become soften to receive the message of Jesus Christ. Lord, help us to continue to plant seeds as only You Lord can give the increase. I thank you Lord for what You are doing in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ I pray. AMEN.AMEN. AMEN!
