Just recently this week I was watching one of the inspirational television programs and as I was watching and carefully listening to this Pastor, he said something that completely shocked me. Nothing bad but it was something that I never in my wildest of dreams given any thought to.
He was speaking about “Salvation” he asked the question to his congregation how do you tell people about Jesus? His answer was this, you tell them that Jesus LOVES THEM, and that is it. He said most of what Christians try to do is explain the Love of Jesus when in fact we can’t explain it. Jesus simply loves us. As I ponder on his statement I asked myself a few questions, and the more I ponder the more it makes sense, because even when I am witnessing to people I tell them that Jesus loves them and they ask me “well how do you know Jesus loves me?” and of course I give them John 3:16 but to a sinner they don’t understand that verse.
so the question now becomes do we use our humanist to explain? In reality we do this is why when some people witness to the lost they don’t know how to do it or they walk away feeling as though they did not make a good witness. We have it all wrong, we can’t explain the Love of God, it comes by faith, we can’t even explain the Trinity we believe in faith.
If we believe in faith the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation then why do we feel we have to explain to a person why Jesus loves them. The answer to witnessing is once we tell a person that Jesus loves them, we have to have faith to believe that God will handle the rest.
You and I can’t get people saved, only Christ can, all God ask from us is to tell people and that is it.
Why must we as humans make things so complicated when God makes things so simple? When will we ever learn?
