2 Timothy 2:15 it says “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
One of the things that we all tend to do is when we read His word we read it as if we are reading a story, we tend to rush through the pages so we can get to the next chapter to find out what happens. But I would like to remind us that God is pleased when we read His word but God also want us to be students of His word.
And if we read His word like we read any other book or magazine without obtaining information and allowing the word to saturate us through and through, then the question becomes are we really reading the word to get understanding of it or are we doing it for religious reasons and practices? Remember the Sadducees was known for their religious acts.
Believe it or not family a lot of people read the word for religious reason, they do it because they think that their deeds will get them into heaven but James tells us in, James 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
We all must read God’s word every day and when you read it take your time so that you can hear what the Spirit is saying to you. Don’t just read it so that you can say I read it, now what! Because Jesus knows each and every one of our hearts, we can fool people but Christ you can never fool.
I for one want to be a much better student of His word I enjoy taking my time and letting His word soak through me while listening to His voice and seeing the words just jump off the pages and into my heart. That’s revelation and that is what I desire to have His word bring revelation to me.

amen sis amen..
“I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your unfailing love and your faithfulness, for you have so exalted your solemn decree that it surpasses your fame.” Psalm 138:2 NIV
amen and so true sister thanks for sharing that verse…
A really good word Desiray! We need to study not just read. This is a simple message easy to hear hard to apply! How I love the Word and to take time in it. May the temptation our culture brings to rush to get to the end no longer be allowed to destroy the joy of the journey!
